Fun on the PB Boardwalk Riding E-Bikes

pacific beach san diegoOn a recent business trip to Pacific Beach San Diego, we found that we had a day to kill by the beach and were looking for something fun to do, something we hadn’t done before.

We talked to a local while enjoying lunch at the PB Shore Club, and he recommended we rent some electric bikes.

We had never tried riding en e bike before, so it was definitely intriguing.  Since we were not from the area, we conducted a quick Google search to see what our options were.

Mr. Google suggested a company called Boardwalk Electric Rides, so we made our way over there to see what they had to offer.

We were very impressed by the setup and selection of bikes.  It was a slower day, so we ended up chatting with the owner for a little while.  He told us about a pal of his that had a Lake Geneva E-Bike rental store, and was doing real well with it, so he had decided to add them into his store as well.

fat tire cruiserHe kindly set us up with a Fat Tire Cruiser (like the one in the pic to the right).  We decided to splurge, and do the full day rental.  It was the best deal per hour, and we did not want to have to hustle back to return the bike right away.

Let me just go out and say it right now… These bikes are awesome!  They are very easy to ride.  They make it less work to ride, but it still is exercise, so it is perfect if you are looking for a fun and relaxing way to cruise the beach.  Numerous people commented on the bikes, and asked about them.  We gladly pointed them to the rental shop, and were on our way.

Overall, we could not have been happier with the experience.  We are grateful for the young man that made the suggestion to us, and we thought this would be the best way to pay it forward!

Conclusion:

We all know there is an abundance of fun waiting for you in Pacific Beach San Diego.  If you can’t find something fun to do there, you might be the problem…

One thing to add to your list is an electric bike ride down the boardwalk.  It is a great way to cover ground, see the sites, hit the establishments you want to hit, and best of all you can get from point A to point B in no time at all!

Thanks for stopping by to check out this post.  Next time you are in SD be sure to hit up the local e bike rental boutique and get out there to see the city in style!

Getting Your Business Noticed in San Diego

get your business on the mapConducting business in a large city like San Diego can be tough.  Unlike smaller cities and towns, word of mouth business is less powerful.  In larger cities, standing out among your competition can be a much more difficult task, but not impossible.

As I mention on the home page of our website, I recently had to hire a professional photographer.  She did an amazing job, and I could not have been happier with the service she provided.

While working together, we got to talking about business, advertising, and things like getting exposure for your business.  I am writing this post because the information she shared with me was truly jaw dropping, and opened my eyes to things I have never considered.

We are both small business owners, and I asked her how she went about generating new leads and business.  That conversation made me realize just how little I know about the internet, and really opened my eyes to the current state of marketing.

I have a business website, but that is pretty much as far as I had gone in regards to creating an online presence.  I guess it’s not as simple as creating a site, and watching the new customers flood in!

Well, the nuances of SEO and online marketing have completely evaded me, and it truly was mind boggling to hear about the ways this gal is generating business with her website, as opposed to the no results method I had been employing!

She talked a lot about using sites like YellowPages, Yelp, Manta, and many others to help establish your brand, and build credibility to your website.  She talked about blogging to establish credibility in my niche, and authority to my website.  Sharing my content on social media too?  Who knew, right?  Was I really supposed to know this stuff?  It can’t be common knowledge…

The conversation went into areas unknown to me at the time, and it really was enlightening to listen to her share this info with me.  Her photography business is thriving, and she said she gets a good deal of business from the things she does online.

Out of sheer curiosity I asked her how she knew about all of this stuff, and she told me that she had taken a course about internet marketing, and has since put it all to use for her.  Pretty impressive.

That day led me to believe that marketing your business on the internet is a must.  Being in a city the size of San Diego, getting your website to show up at the top of the search engines can bring in a lot of new business, so that is our goal for 2017.

Thanks for reading this post.  I know the general theme of the site is about San Diego Photos, but I felt the desire to share this with my readers because the new direction of our website will be geared towards sharing info and reviews of all things related to San Diego, and we think this qualifies!

That is all for now, we will see you next time!
